Caroline herself has a stoma after undergoing surgery for ulcerative colitis seven years ago.

The mother-of-two took up swimming two years ago and is now aiming to become an Ironman.

She said: “I’ve met so many people with a stoma who have lost confidence in getting out on the beach or in a swimming pool. Having a stoma doesn’t need to stop you doing the things you enjoy, but I appreciate it does take time, that is why I am welcoming others to join me for a social get together.”

The event will begin at 9.45am at the Sidmouth Harbour Hotel pool.
