Go Purple for CA Awareness Day
Aug 27, 2015
Help spread the word about the Colostomy Association and life with a stoma by going purple for CA Awareness Day in October.
It is not long until this year's CA Awareness Day where dozens of volunteers, supporters, businesses and even a few recognisable faces will be going purple to raise awareness of the challenges that people living with a stoma face.
The Colostomy Association supports over 23,000 people with a stoma in the UK each year. However, there are still thousands of people we need to reach. CA Awareness Day was created in 2014 as a way of raising awareness of our charity’s services and making sure that anyone with a stoma in the UK is able to live a normal and inclusive life.
This year, we are encouraging supporters to grab people’s attention by Going Purple. We already have volunteers and businesses who have decided to get involved by making their workplace go purple, doing purple cake sales and more. Any way you can go purple on the day will help spread awareness of the CA and ensure more people with a stoma are able to access our services.
Some ideas include: wearing a purple wig for the day, going to work in purple, purple cake sale, changing your facebook profile pic to purple, painting something purple. The bigger and bolder your idea the better, but even going purple in a small way will help increase awareness of the CA.
